Global Kids online research toolkit

In this video, Sonia Livingstone (Department of Media and Communications, LSE) presents methodological toolkit that Global Kids Online network has created.

Global Kids Online is an international research project that aims to generate and sustain a rigorous cross-national evidence base around children’s use of the internet by creating a global network of researchers and experts.

The project developed a global research toolkit that would enable researchers and research users to carry out reliable and standardised national research with children and their parents on the opportunities, risks and protective factors of children’s internet use.

Livingstone in this video presents the various resources available as part of the toolkit. They include qualitative and quantitative guide, expert guidance on different dilemmas that researchers may face in conducting research on the subject, and impact resources to help findings get to policymakers, media and the public.
